Q While we focused so much on the 3 major types of reliability and validity this week, we didn't talk a lot about face validity, which is the accuracy or representativeness of the test based on the opinion of the test-taker (i.e., does it look valid to the person taking it). Is this something an organization should also measure when doing a validation study? Why or why not? What would be the advantages or disadvantages to examining face validity?

Face validity, to put in simple terms, checks that if a particular measure is actually measuring what it is supposed to measure. Organizations must include face validity while doing a validation study because it gives a better clarity. It gives an impression of honesty and transparency on the part of the organization. In many cases the face validity is also known as logical validity. Face validity is not the strongest form of validity but it is used in the elimination process of incompetent research. Face validity is better understood when we try to link its meaning with “face value”. Face validity does not include many forms of objective measurement.
